The WD Scorpio Black WD5000BPKT is a 2.5-inch 500 GB laptop hard drive designed for higher performance systems. It features 7200 RPM rotational speed, 16 MB cache, and a SATA II (3 Gb/s) interface. Using PMR magnetic recording and standard 512-byte sectors, the drive provides sustained transfer speeds of around 100–110 MB/s, making it faster than typical 5400 RPM notebook drives.
